A Pilgrimage is a journey to a particular place with spiritual significance. Following our Lent 2012 Study on “A Rule of Life,” we will be building on our teaching, study and reflection with a pilgrimage to Italy where we will visit Florence, Assisi, and Rome – home to many religious communities and sites of early Christian communities.

A Diocesan event organised for all!
How can you understand where a people want to go unless you understand where they come from? Are you aware that there are many First-Nations people in Montreal and that many of them have an association with the Anglican Church?
Lee Greyfeather, key organizer of this event and member of our parish, poses the question and is helping to design the workshop to contribute to answering it. The National Indigenous Bishop of our Church, Bp. Mark MacDonald, has challenged the urban centers in Canada to reach out pastorally to the peoples of the First Nations.
The objective of the event will be to better equip all Anglicans for ministry to Aboriginal people in the diocese. This will include discussion on spiritual beliefs (and drawing parallels with Christian ones), customs and traditions. You will also take part in scenarios aimed at helping to develop strategies for effective communication and interaction. The closing ceremonies and prayers will include music and songs by Broken Walls.
Being strategically located downtown and with a few Native members in our midst, including the key organizer, our parish is able to play a key role in welcoming Native people and building bridges. Your participation at this event will empower you for this ministry.
The programme is also available as a PDF on the Diocesan website.
