How We Worship

The Sunday Services

There are more than one way to worship God. The Anglican tradition is rich in liturgies and in worship styles and here at St. James the Apostle, you will find a blend of styles. Each service has a unique flavour.

Holy Communion with Bread and Wine

Sung Eucharist
1st, 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at 11:00 a.m.

This service uses the Book of Alternative Services (the green book) and modern language. It includes hymns sung by the choir and congregation from Common Praise (the blue book) as well as anthems sung by the choir.

During the service, we offer a nursery (for younger children).

After the service, everyone is invited to come in the East Transept of the Church for coffee hour: a good occasion to meet other members of the parish.

Morning Prayer with Eucharist
3rd and 5th Sunday of the month at 11:00 a.m.

This service begins as a traditional service using the Book of Common Prayer (the red book) and old English. It then continues with the Eucharistic Prayer and Communion from the Book of Alternative Services. Besides a few hymns sung by choir and congregation, it includes lots of choir music: plain chant, anthems, etc.

During the service, we offer nursery (for very young children).

After the service, everyone is invited to come in the East Transept of the Church for coffee hour: a good occasion to meet other members of the parish.
